CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Beavers are back in an NCAA Super Regional for the first time since 2007.
Jake Rodriguez went 3-for-3 and Tony Bryant shut down Georgia in the ninth after a 21-minute light delay to give the Beavers the Corvallis Regional championship with a 6-4 victory Sunday night at Goss Stadium.
Next up for Oregon State is Vanderbilt, which won the Nashville Regional earlier Sunday. The NCAA will announce the official starting dates - either Friday or Saturday - as well as locations and times for each of the eight super regionals Monday night after all regional games are completed.
Parker Berberet went 2-for-2 and drove in two runs, including a solo home run in the second inning, as the Beavers on their third consecutive game and 11th straight postseason game at Goss Stadium. Brian Stamps also hit a solo home run as one of his two hits and Kavin Keyes tallied two hits of his own in the win.
Scott Schultz threw five innings in relief of Josh Osich after coming on in the second, and he was backed up by Matt Boyd, Adam Duke and Bryant. Duke earned his first career win after going 1 1/3 innings, walking just one with no hits and no runs.
Bryant allowed a hit and a walk and waited out a 21-minute delay as a bank of lights went out at Goss Stadium, but retired Georgia with two runners on for his 12th save of the season and he sealed the Corvallis Regional for the Beavers.
Oregon State improved to 18-3 all-time in postseason games at home.
Eric Swegmen took the loss for the Bullodgs, dropping to 1-2 this season. He allowed two hits and a run in one inning of work.
Georgia tied the game on a single by Kyle Farmer in the seventh, but OSU answered back with a sacrifice fly by Jared Norris in the eighth, scoring Michael Miller. Kavin Keyes gave the Beavers some breathing room with a two-out double in the ninth that scored Ryan Barnes.
OSU improved its record to 41-17 while Georgia dropped to 33-31.
