TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Roberto Nelson had a career-high 34 points and five assists and Omari Johnson had his fourth double-double of the season, but Arizona State made 17 three-pointers to defeat Oregon State, 80-66, Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Beavers (10-19, 5-13 Pac-10) played only six players in the game. The other players were suspended one game for a team violation.
Arizona State (12-18, 4-14 Pac-10) made 17-of-40 three-pointers and were led by Ty Abbott's 22 points.
Nelson made 4-of-6 three-point attempts and Angus Brandt had a career-high nine rebounds. Junior walk-on Kevin McShane, Johnson and Nelson each played all 40 minutes.
Johnson had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Joe Burton added nine rebounds for the Beavers. Walk-on Daniel Jones played a career-high six minutes.
