Game 1 - Oregon State 4, Portland State (8 innings)
The Beavers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning when Mary Claire Brenner singled in Lea Cavestany who led off the inning with a double to center field.
After two scoreless innings, the Vikings took the lead with two runs in the top of the sixth inning with a bases loaded single to center field with two outs.
Oregon State did not waste any time in reclaiming the lead with two runs of its own in the bottom of the sixth inning. Roderfeld, pinch hitting for Nikki Chandler, took the first pitch she saw and drove it over the left field wall for a 2-run home run to regain the lead at 3-2 going into the top of the seventh inning.
With a win just three outs away for the Beavers, Portland State scrapped together a run in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 3-3. After the Beavers went in order in the bottom of the seventh, the game moved to extra innings.
Coming into the play Tuesday, the Beavers were 2-0 on the season in extra inning games. The Vikings could not score in the top of the eighth allowing the Beavers to win the game in the bottom of the eighth with just one run.
McKenna Lowe was placed on second to start the eighth inning, per softball extra inning rules, and was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Kilee Lippencott. Hall came up next and drilled a single to right center scoring Lowe from third for the winning run.
Oregon State starting pitcher Marina Demore pitched 6.2 innings allowing three earned runs on six hits in a no decision. Portland State starter Nichole Latham pitched 7.1 innings and fell to 7-5 with the loss.
Game 2 - Oregon State 2, Portland State 0
Hall pitched a complete game shutout in the second game of the doubleheader for her second win of the day and third in her last three appearances. In her last three appearances she has pitched 15.1 innings without giving up a run while walking only two batters and striking out 11.
The second game of the doubleheader was scoreless going into the bottom of the sixth inning when the Beavers scored two runs on no hits. With one out in the sixth inning, Maggie Doremus walked and then moved to third base on two wild pitches. After Brenner walked and was run for by Ashley Sanchez, Desiree Beltran was hit by the first pitch she saw to load the bases.
Beltran was pinch run for by Lowe before Erin Guzy was walked with the bases loaded to give the Beavers their first run of the day. The third wild pitch of the inning by Vikings pitcher Anna Bertrand scored Sanchez from third base giving the Beavers the 2-0 lead going to the final inning.
The Vikings got runners on first and second with two down in the inning before Beltran snagged a line drive down the left field line just wide of third base to end the game.
The Beavers won their seventh straight game by a score of 2-0 despite only tallying only three hits in the game. Hall improved to 4-2 with the two wins on the day.
Notes: Oregon State is now 3-0 in extra inning ball games this season ... Audrey Roderfeld's pinch hit home run was her first home run of the year and the first pinch hit home run of the season for the Beavers.
