
Marchbanks Scores Career-High, but Beavers Fall to No. 4 Stanford

Corvallis, Ore. - Junior Earlysia Marchbanks (Salem, Ore.) scored a career-high 19 points, adding six rebounds and a pair of steals, but the Oregon State women's basketball team fell to the No. 4 Stanford Cardinal, 74-44, on Saturday afternoon in legendary Gill Coliseum.
Senior El Sara Greer (Waterloo, Iowa) complemented Marchbanks on the boards to lead all rebounders with 10, while redshirt sophomore Sage Indendi (Livingston, Mont.) had a game-high four steals.
The Cardinal (18-2, 9-0) jumped out to a 12-0 lead, shooting 4 of 5, before Oregon State (7-13, 0-9) battled back to go on a 9-2 run to make it 14-9 at the second media timeout, led Marchbanks' five points.
Freshman Alyssa Martin (Portland, Ore.) and redshirt freshman Tami Brown (Eugene, Ore.) both hit three-pointers, topped by a couple of buckets by Marchbanks and freshman Classye James (Palo Alto, Calif.) as the first half clock expired with Stanford leading 39-19.
Marchbanks led all Oregon State scorers with 12 points in the second half, connecting on two of her three long ball attempts late. Indendi also tallied a pair of three-pointers in the second half, while Martin, sophomore Angela Misa (Oceanside, Calif.) and James all converted a basket each.
Stanford's Kayla Pedersen earned a game-high 21 points, while Mikaela Ruef had a team-high eight rebounds.

· Marchbanks' x points is a new career-high, besting her previous 18 points.
· Senior El Sara Greer tallied her seventh double-digit rebounds game with 10, 14th career.
· Greer is now tied for third all-time with Carol Menken (1980-81) for blocked shots with 69 on the season. She is 10th all-time for career blocked shots with 91.
· Stanford's 74 points is the second-lowest point total it has been held to this season in conference play.
· The 30-point margin is the third smallest Stanford has had so far in Pac-10 play.
