DEXTER LAKE, Ore. – The Oregon State women's rowing matched up against both UCLA and San Diego this Saturday for their last home meet of the season as the Novice 8+ “A” raced to victory while the others came up just short.
Though UCLA took three out of four races, the Beavers didn't go quietly. In the varsity 8+ race, Oregon State's 16th-ranked crew came in just under three-seconds behind the Bruins with San Diego following just a second after. The second varsity 8+ similarly came in second.
Both Varsity 4+ boats came in after UCLA but ahead of San Diego, with the varsity 4+ “B” boat beating San Diego by a margin of over seven-seconds.
The Beavers will return to action when they head to Pullman, Wash. to compete against Washington State on Saturday, May 1, before going to Sacramento, Calif. to race in the Pac-10 Conference regatta.
