PULLMAN, Wash. – The Oregon State women's rowing team returned to action this week as the Beavers fell to No. 8 Washington State in four-of-five races on the weekend. The victory for the Beavers went to the novice 8+ boat by a nearly 8-second margin. "It was a tough day for us on the water;” head coach Emily Ford said. “Our bladework really suffered in the conditions. It is something that we will have to work to clean up in the next couple of weeks. The novice 8+ did a great job again against a strong opponent." The Beaver's next race will be the Pac-10 Championships in Sacramento, Calif., on Saturda, May 16. RESULTS The varsity 4 and 8+ crews battled hard against the Cougars and the 14 mph headwind, but came up short against Washington State. The varsity 8+ squad fell by 16 seconds to the Cougars while the varsity 4+ boat fell by a 10-second margin.
