
Softball Falls to No. 6 Arizona State

Tempe, Ariz. – Freshman Mary Claire Brenner (Portland, Ore.) went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, but the Oregon State softball team was unable to score against No. 6 Arizona State on Sunday afternoon, falling 8-0 in five innings.
Junior Dani Chisholm (Boring, Ore.) and senior DeAnn Young (Camarillo, Calif.) were the other two Oregon State hitters to tally hits, each tallying a single.
Freshman Paige Hall (Portland, Ore.) threw 5.0 innings and was charged with the loss, making her record now 9-5. Redshirt freshman Karmen Holladay (Corvallis, Ore.) threw the remaining 0.2 innings.
Designated player Jessica Mapes led the Arizona State battery, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Pitcher Hillary Bach threw the complete game, improving her record to 17-1.
Oregon State returns home to host No. 3 Stanford on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the OSU Softball Complex. Fans that wear pink will receive $2 admission and the first 100 fans will receive pink eye stickers and pom poms.
