The Beavers were in California today, competing in the San Diego Crew Classic. OSU raced three boats in the heats today, a varsity eight boat, a JV eight boat, and a novice eight boat.
The varsity eight boat finished in 7 minutes and 4.87 seconds and in fifth place in their heat. Perennial power California won the heat finishing in a time of 6:46.5 and other pacific 10 schools USC and Washington State finished second and third respectively. The varsity eight boat will race tomorrow at 11:30 AM in the petite final, which means they will be racing for seventh to twelfth place.
The JV eight finished in a time of 7:14.99 and in third place. California won that race as well finishing in a time of 6:58.8. The JV eight will also be competing in the petite final at 10:20AM.
The novice eight finished in second in their heat finishing in a time of 7:04.43. UCLA won that heat, finishing in a time of 7:02.1. The novice eight boat will be competing in the grand final tomorrow at 10:50 AM, which means they are competing for first to sixth place.
