What They’re Saying about Coach Kagan
“Words cannot describe how happy I am for Matt. He is a great coach and an even better person who is so deserving of this great opportunity. Although I am sad to see him go, I am far more genuinely overjoyed for him. He has done so well wherever he has been and I know he will make Oregon State better.” Mississippi State Head Coach Tom Anagnost
“Oregon State is no doubt getting one of the very best coaches in the country. They are getting a coach that is an extremely hard worker and will give everything he has to serve his team in every facet of their lives. I have no doubt that Matt will be extremely successful as the head coach at Oregon State.” Notre Dame Head Coach Nate Norman
“Matt is an outstanding young coach who helped to turn around the University of Miami and Mississippi State women’s soccer programs. He has worked closely and learned from Tom Anagnost and will use the knowledge he gained to help develop the Oregon State team. I am excited to watch the OSU program grow.” Florida State Head Coach Mark Krikorian
“I was fortunate to have Matt on my staff for three seasons (2014-2016) during which time our program had a record breaking season in 2015 advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16. I have the utmost respect for Matt as a person and a coach. Matt is passionate in everything he does. He is a tireless worker when it comes to recruiting and maintaining relationships with people. He sets high expectations for his players on and off the field and pushes them daily to help them become the best versions of themselves. Matt is demanding, but also very caring about his players. I know Matt’s energy, enthusiasm, and work-ethic will bring a spark to the OSU soccer program. His former coaching experiences have prepared him well for this job and I believe he will do a great job leading the program forward.” Loyola Marymount Head Coach Michelle Myers
