“I’m honored to return to the Oregon State rowing program,” Prosser said. “My goal coming to OSU out of high school was to make it somewhere people wanted to go. I wanted to help OSU develop the program and I am excited to take that on from a new role.”
He had previously served on the OSU men’s coaching staff as an undergraduate student coach during the 2015-16 season.
Prosser, a native of Portland, Ore., returned to Corvallis after spending the summer and fall of 2016 coaching at the Rose City Rowing Club in Portland following his graduation from OSU in June. In 2010, his crew finished fifth at nationals and took 11th in 2011. Prosser also spent two summers rowing out of Seattle Area Rowing, under former OSU rower and coach Conor Bullis, winning the summer league national championship in the top 8.
He eventually found his way to Oregon State where he raced in the Freshman 8 during his first year in Corvallis before graduating to the Varsity 8 for the rest of his career. He helped power the Beavers’ V8 to IRA National Championships each of his three seasons in the team’s top boat and finished his career on the water at the 2015 championships.
Prosser elected to spend the summer of 2014 training at the New York Athletic Club helping his Senior Men’s 8 to an undefeated season. His crew won the US Rowing club nationals in the Intermediate Men’s 8 and won the Senior Men’s 8 at the Canadian Henley.
