OSU 2007-08 Appeared in nine tournaments as a freshman, averaging 77.12 strokes per round... shot a season best 1-under-par 70 in the final round of the Ping/ASU Invitational en route to a tie for 18th place... had two top 10 performances, tied for eighth place at the Kent Youel Invitational (a career best) and earned a 10th place finish at the Pinehurst Challenge... finished 41st at the Pac-10 Championships.
High School: Graduated in 2007 from Capistrano Valley High School, in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. ... played varsity basketball freshmen and sophomore year, and varsity golf all four years... her junior and senior year she was the captain of her golf team and she won the South Coast league Championship as an individual two years in a row... was also a center for the Orange County Magic Basketball Club and in 2006 she was named the First Team all County (Orange County)... participated in First-Tee Walmart open at Pebble Beach and at age 12 she took part in the Washington Junior Golf State Championship.
Personal: Born in Kirkland, WA. Daughter of Tanya and Dan Freeman... father owns an import company and a sales and marketing company, mother is a retired-stay at home mom... has one brother, Ryan... biggest athletic thrill to date is “Winning the playoff to win state in Washington Junior Golf.”
Favorites: In her spare time, Cara, enjoys listening to music, watching movies, going to the beach, being outdoors and traveling... her favorite golfer is Lorena Ochoa... favorite golf course is Grayhawk Golf Club... favorite club is a driver... favorite shot is “hitting my driver off the tee.”... favorite book is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert... favorite movie is Anchorman... favorite TV show is The Office... favorite food is chicken pot pie from Costco... the best thing about golf is “the opportunities it gives me to see new places, meet new people and that it’s challenging.” ... chose OSU because of the athletic facilities, the coaches, the team and because she loved the campus.
