Rich Montgomery is in his fourth season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Oregon State men’s rowing team.
Montgomery arrived at Oregon State after a standout rowing career at Cornell. He was a four-time member of the US Rowing National Team. From 2004-07, Montgomery rowed with the national team capturing a silver medal in the lightweight doubles at the 2007 Pan American Games.
In addition, Montgomery is a three-time champion in the lightweight single event at the prestigious Head of the Charles regatta and raced to a second-place finish at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Montgomery graduated from Cornell University in 2000 and served as the team captain his senior season. He won the IRA Championship in the varsity pair race in 2000.
Prior to Oregon State, Montgomery served as a volunteer assistant coach with Boston University (2002-03) and Pennsylvania (2006).
