Noah Goldman has helped lead the Oregon State men’s golf program to three postseason appearances, five team titles and several individual honors and records during his first five years as an assistant coach.

In his second season at Oregon State, Goldman and head coach Jon Reehoorn led the Beavers to a return to the NCAA Division I Regionals and several other accomplishments in 2018-19:
During Goldman’s first year in Corvallis, the Beavers finished ahead of Oregon at the Pac-12 Championship to earn a point in the Civil War Series. Oregon State finished in a season-best tie for third place at the Duck Invitational in Eugene and fifth place at the Mark Simpson Invitational.
Spencer Tibbits had an outstanding start to his collegiate career as he posted a team-best scoring average of 71.85 with three top-10 finishes to earn a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Sophomore Shawn Lu had career bests with a tie for fifth place at the Duck Invitational and a 7-under 64 at the Saint Mary’s Invitational.
Trevor Yu (First Team) and Lu (Second Team) both received Pac-12 All-Academic honors for their work in the classroom.
Goldman was the assistant men’s golf coach at Mississippi State the past three years, an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs at Nova Southeastern University from 2012-14 and a volunteer assistant with the women’s golf program at Samford University from 2011-12.
During his time in Starkville, Goldman helped lead the Bulldogs to 10 top-five finishes and two individual tournament medalists, while improving all three years in the final Golfstat rankings. He recruited and coached Peng Pichaikool to the All-SEC Freshman Team and an individual spot at the NCAA Regional Championships. Goldman also helped with the development of a new $3.3 million team building and practice facility.
Before returning to his alma mater, Goldman spent two seasons as an assistant golf coach with the men’s and women’s programs at Nova Southeastern. The men’s team placed second at the Division II National Championship in 2014 and finished in the top 3 in 10 tournaments, including the team title at the Armstrong Pirate Invitational. In 2013, they finished first in the final NCAA II Golfstat rankings and third at the NCAA Division II National Championship after losing in a tiebreaker in the semifinals.
The women’s team won the team title at the Lady Bucs Invitational, qualified for NCAA Regionals and finished seventh in the final Golfstat rankings in 2014. The previous year, they won seven team titles, placed second at the NCAA Division II Championship and finished first in the final Golfstat rankings.
During one year at Samford, Goldman helped the women’s golf program claim nine top-10 finishes, including two team titles and five top-5 finishes.
Goldman competed on the Hooters Golf Tour and the Peach State Tour from September 2009 through June 2011.
During four seasons at Mississippi State, Goldman had the third-most wins (4), the fifth-lowest scoring average (73.99) and the third-lowest round (64) in program history. He was named the SEC Golfer of the Week twice and was selected to the GCAA Division I All-Region Team.
Goldman was a standout in the classroom, earning GCAA Academic All-America honors and Mississippi State’s nomination for the SEC Boyd McWhorter Post-Graduate Scholarship. He was a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar, a Mississippi State University President Scholar and selected to the SEC and Mississippi State Honor Rolls.
A native of Longwood, Fla., Goldman earned two degrees from Mississippi State, a bachelor of business administration in 2008 and a master of business administration in 2009.
Goldman and his wife, Ashley, have two daughters, Ellie and Mila.

- Carson Barry advanced to the NCAA Championships as an individual.
- Barry, Mateo Fuenmayor, Jackson Lake and Nolan Thoroughgood earned honors as All-America Scholars.
- Barry’s 72.23 scoring average as the 15th-best single-season mark in Oregon State history. He finished in the top 10 in four of his 12 tournaments.
- Brandon Eyre opened his collegiate career with a title at the Husky Invitational in Seattle.
- Jackson Lake had one of the best single rounds in OSU history, shooting 7-under par at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate. He ended the tournament at 9-under. It’s one of just 22 finishes in three rounds at 9-under or better in OSU history.
- One of those other 22 finishes belongs to Eyre, who won the Husky Invitational at 9-under. He opened his career with a 5-under in his first ever round at the NCAA level.

- Reached the NCAA National Championship for the first time since 2010 and only the fourth time since 1967.
- Finished the NCAA Championship in 23rd place in the 30-team field.
- Had the best-ever finish at an NCAA Regional, a tie for second place, in Albuquerque.
- Was the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Albuquerque Regional but played its best golf of the season in a 14-team field that included eight teams ranked among the top 47 by Golfstat.com.
- Won the team title at the Duck Invitational.
- Had four top-five finishes.
- Equaled the lowest single-round sub-par score in school history, a 16-under 344, in the third round of the Pac-12 Championship.

- Shawn Lu and Spencer Tibbits were named to the Division I PING All-Region West Team as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
- Shawn Lu was selected to the All-Pac-12 First Team and Spencer Tibbits was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team, by a vote of the conference coaches.
- Spencer Tibbits led the team with a scoring average of 71.41, the fifth best in Oregon State single-season history.
- Shawn Lu had a scoring average of 71.55, the eighth best in Oregon State single-season history.

- Ranked No. 36 in the final Golfweek national poll.
- Set the program’s single-season scoring average record (71.61).
- Won three team titles (Hamptons Intercollegiate, Oregon State Invitational, Bandon Dunes Championship); that equals the most in a season in program history.
- Finished in the top-five in five of their seven tournaments.
- Had three individual champions (Spencer Tibbits at Husky Invitational; Shawn Lu at Hamptons Intercollegiate; Carson Barry at Oregon State Invitational).
- Carson Barry led the team with a scoring average of 71.22 the third best in Oregon State single-season history.
- Spencer Tibbits had a scoring average of 71.45, the fifth best in Oregon State single-season history.
- Spencer Tibbits (second, 71.68), Sean Kato (ninth, 72.92), Shawn Lu (11th, 73.07) and Kyosuke Hara (12th, 73.09) are in the top 12 on Oregon State’s career scoring list (must have played 40 rounds and two full seasons to qualify).
- Spencer Tibbits has 11 career top-10 finishes, tied for the fourth most in Oregon State history.
In his second season at Oregon State, Goldman and head coach Jon Reehoorn led the Beavers to a return to the NCAA Division I Regionals and several other accomplishments in 2018-19:
- Advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2013.
- Won the team title at the Duck Invitational; it was the first team title since 2014.
- Had a team scoring average of 72.26, the best since 2011.
- Recorded eighth top-10 finishes in the 12 tournaments.
- Spencer Tibbits earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention recognition; he’s the first Oregon State golfer to earn All-Pac-12 honors since David Fink was selected to the Second Team in 2014.
- Sean Kato was selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
- Spencer Tibbits led the team with a scoring average of 71.65, the sixth best in program history.
- Shawn Lu and Spencer Tibbits earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention recognition.
- Spencer Tibbits qualified for the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach by finishing in a tie for second place a sectional qualifier in Walla Walla, Wash.
