CHENEY, Wash. – The Oregon State women's soccer team fell 2-1 at Eastern Washington Friday afternoon in Cheney, Wash.

Mary Hoffman scored for the Beavers, netting her third goal of the season after the Eagles had opened up an early two-goal advantage. Adele Schwab recorded an assist on the goal. As a team, Oregon State took 12 shots in the match.

Lea Gentry created the first scoring chance of the game, missing her shot from a tight angle wide of the post. The Eagles opened the scoring in the ninth minute, finding the net on a scramble in the Oregon State penalty area. Eastern Washington added a second in the 16^th minute.

Oregon State attacked from there, looking to pull one back. Emily Brandt forced a save in the 18^th minute, and Hoffman got Oregon State on the board in the 30^th after her goal was awarded following a lengthy video review. The Beavers headed to the intermission trailing by a goal.

Alexi Morgan replaced Libby Brooker in net to start the second half, and was quickly called into action, as she was able to make a save in a 1-v-1 opportunity for the Eagles in the 48^th minute. Brooker returned mid-way through the closing period, finishing her day with three saves.

Oregon State made a late push as it attempted to get a result, but OSU could not even the score as EWU claimed the victory.

The Beavers will open Pac-12 play next Thursday at Washington State.
