Beavers Set to Open Season Wednesday

THE GAMES: The Oregon State women's soccer team opens its 2026 season this week. The Beavers will hit the road to take on South Carolina and Lipscomb.

UP NEXT: Oregon State will play its home opener August 19, when Bushnell visits Corvallis. Four of OSU's first five games will be road matches.
Quick Hitters:
- This will mark the fourth-straight season that Oregon State has opened on the road.
- Sophia Zboyan, Lea Gentry and Ava Burdeyny were named to the Pac-12 Preseason Impact List
- Oregon State returns six players from last year's squad, compared to 22 newcomers
- The Beavers defeated Portland State 2-0 in exhibition action on Aug. 5.
- Adele Schwab is Oregon State's leading returner, having started all 19 matches for the Beavers last season. The midfielder was tied for the team lead with eight points on the year.
- Oregon State returns to action as a member of the Pac-12 this season, after playing the prior two campaigns in the WCC. The Beavers are joined in the new-look conference by Boise State, San Diego State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Washington State, Texas State and Gonzaga.
- For the first time in conference history, the Pac-12 will hold a women's soccer tournament this year, with the top-four regular-season finishers making the event.
- Mya Sanchez, a two-time All-WCC Honorable Mention who started every game the past two seasons, graduated and signed a professional contract with Shelbourne FC in Ireland's League of Ireland Premier Division.
- Oregon State head coach Caroline Kelly played goalkeeper for South Carolina during her senior season in 2015, after beginning her career at Virginia Tech. She made 12 starts, holding a pair of shutouts on the season.
The Staff:
- Caroline Kelly took over as interim head coach prior to the 2024 season, and was promoted to head coach ahead of last season's campaign.
- Kelly also served as an assistant coach for the Beavers from 2021-23. Prior to that she had stints at Cincinnati, Army and Dartmouth
- Kwame Oduro was promoted to the role of Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2026 season. Oduro joined the Oregon State staff in the winter of 2025, after spending 10 years as the head coach of the St. Bonaventure men's soccer program.
- Connor Golley is in his first season on the Oregon State staff. He joins the Beavers after stints at Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure.
The Matchups:
- Oregon State will be facing South Carolina and Lipscomb for the first time in program history.
- The Beavers' season opener at South Carolina will mark Oregon State's first matchup with an SEC opponent since it faced Missouri on Aug. 25, 2017
