Kyra Ly Leads Beavers At Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – Kyra Ly led the Oregon State women's golf team at the Silverado Showdown on Wednesday, the team's final tournament before looking to repeat as WCC champions later this month.
The Beavers concluded the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 30-over 298-294-302—894 at the par-72, 6,146-yard Silverado Resort North Course to finish in a tie for 10th place in the 16-team field.
Ly, who just competed at the Augusta National Women's Amateur, was consistent as usual, shooting a 2-over 73-71-74—218 to finish in a tie for 21st place. She had nine birdies over the three rounds, including four on the second day,
It's the ninth time this season Ly has finished in the Top 25 in the Beavers' 10 tournaments.
Raya Nakao fired an even-par 72 in the second round and finished in a tie for 34th place with a 5-over 74-72-75—221. She equaled Ly with a team-best nine birdies in the tournament, with four of them also coming in the second round.
Kelly Hope and Kate Nakaoka both carded an 11-over 227 to finish in a tie for 50th place, as Hope posted scores of 74-77-76 and Nakaoka finished with 77-74-76. Hope had eight birdies, with five in the first round, and Nakaoka had six birdies.
Rebecca Kim improved her score each round, shooting a 17-over 79-78-76—233 and finished in a tie for 75th place. Kim had six birdies in the event with three coming in the second round.
No. 2 USC won the team title with a 37-under 827 and the Trojans' Jasmine Koo claimed medalist honors with a 10-under 206.
The Beavers will compete next at the WCC Championship, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 25 through Monday, April 27 in Fairfield, Calif.
