Last Game
Easton Talt homered in the first and AJ Singer and Bryce Hubbard both drove in runs in the ninth in Oregon State's 7-3 loss to Oregon Wednesday. Jacob Galloway and Tyler Inge each produced two hits for the Beavers, who also drew seven walks but struck out 13 times. OSU's staff held Oregon to five hits but also issued a season-high 10 walks and also hit four batters.

Oregon State Notables
• Oregon State and Hawai'i are playing for the 30th time on Friday. Hawai'i holds a 17-2 advantage but Oregon State is 8-2 over the last 10.
• The teams have played in Corvallis just twice; in 2006 at the Corvallis Regional, a 12-3 OSU win, and in 2009, an 8-4 Beaver victory in a regular season matchup. Future MLB pitcher Mike Stutes got the win in the 2006 victory.
• AJ Singer is 8 for his last 18 and has three home runs and 10 RBI over his last five games.
• Easton Talt enters the series opener on his fourth five-game hit streak of the season. Talt has reached base safely in 18 consecutive games and is slashing .354/.438/.532 in the month of April.
• Albert Roblez, who was named to the midseason watch lists for the Pitcher and Stopper of the Year on Wednesday, has not allowed an earned run in 12 straight appearances, a stretch of 12 2/3 innings. He's striking out 18.6 batters per nine innings.
• Bryson Glassco has four home runs and 13 RBI in April. He's hitting .326 in the month and carries a four-game hit streak into the opener.
• Bryce Hubbard has reached base in 12 straight and has drawn eight walks in April, where he owns a .444 on-base percentage.
• Even including Wednesday's 10 walks, OSU's pitchers have dramatically dropped their walk rate in April. The staff averaged 4.25 walks per nine innings in March, dropping that to 2.40 in April.
• Friday's probable starter, Dax Whitney, has allowed 16 hits with eight walks while striking out 50 in 25 2/3 innings in night games this season. In day games, he's allowed 21 hits and eight walks with 47 Ks in 30 2/3 innings.
