Oregon State rallied for three runs in the eighth inning, capped by a Bryce Hubbard two-run double, to send the Beavers to a 7-5 series-opening win over Mercer Friday night. Easton Talt evened the game at five with a run-scoring double earlier in the inning, then scoring, along with Adam Haight, on Hubbard's double. Paul Vazquez also homered for Oregon State in the fourth. Dax Whitney struck out 13 and he combined with Zach Edwards and Albert Roblez to fan 19. Edwards got the win, his first of the season.
