Home Stretch Begins Thursday in Gill for WBB

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's basketball has four extremely important games for WCC Tournament seeding remaining in its regular season, and the good news for the Beavs is that three of them are in Gill Coliseum.
This weekend, OSU battles Portland, which is a game behind the Beavers for fourth in the WCC standings, and Washington State. The Beavs are a single game out of first and second in the conference after Gonzaga's loss to LMU and are tied with Santa Clara at 10-4 in WCC play (though the Broncos own the tiebreaker).
Thursday is Oregon State's Dam Cancer game and the Beavers will be wearing their pink uniforms. As is tradition since Ruth Hamblin in 2016, hair donations will take place on the floor postgame.

With Jenna Villa, Kennedie Shuler and Tiara Bolden enjoying career years, Oregon State's guards are a headache for opposing defenses. The Beavers are one of two WCC teams to have three players averaging 12+ points per game and all three have scored 25+ points at least once this season. Shuler (31 at Pacific) and Villa (32 v. Pacific, 31 v. Gonzaga) are the first pair of Beaver teammates to each score 30+ points at least once since Marie Gulich (36 on 2/25 v. Arizona State) and Kat Tudor (34 on 1/19 v. Oregon) in 2018.
EXORCISING DEMONS FROM 2024-25
The early WCC slate set Oregon State up to pick up a few payback victories and the chance to win in buildings where they lost tight games in 2024-25. The Beavers opened league play with wins at USF (lost 52-50 in 24-25) and Saint Mary's (lost 69-66 after 17-point comeback by SMC) before blowing out Pacific at home, which swept the Beavs by a combined four points last year with both games in Stockton, and Washington State (swept OSU in 2024-25). The Beavers exorcised one of their final demons from 2024-25 on Saturday, coming from behind to beat Pacific on the road.

Oregon State's #1 rule on defense is No Layups and a talented quartet of rim protectors are enforcing that rule. The Beavers are one of five teams nationally with four players who have at least 19 blocks this season (Kennedie Shuler, Néné Sow, Lizzy Williamson and Lara Alonso-Basurto) and they rank 42nd nationally with 4.4 blocks per game.
