Hubbard’s 10th-Inning Home Run Gives Beavers Another Walkoff Win
February 16, 2026 | Baseball
SURPRISE, Ariz. – Bryce Hubbard drilled the second pitch he saw in the 10th inning over the right field fence to send Oregon State to a 5-4 win over Michigan Monday in the Beavers' last of four games at Surprise Stadium.
Hubbard, facing reliever Preston Barr, took the first pitch for a ball, then hit the second 396 feet to right for his first career home run, which sent the Beavers (3-1) to their second-consecutive walkoff win. It was the second RBI of the day for Hubbard, who hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
The win capped a 3-1 weekend for the Beavers, who played to more than 21,000 fans at the Spring Training home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals. Michigan, who won the first of two between the teams on Friday, is also 3-1 on the year.
Jack Giordano, who was the Beavers' seventh pitcher of the day, earned the win, his first, with a scoreless 10th inning. He struck out two as Oregon State finished with 16 as a team. Six came from starter Trey Morris, who made his collegiate debut with 4 1/3 innings, scattering a hit and a run.
OSU scored first, with two runs coming in the fourth. Easton Talt drove home the first on a double to center, then scored on Hubbard's sac fly.
Michigan pulled to within one in the fifth, and the Beavers added to the lead on a balk in the fifth.
Michigan tied the game with two in the seventh, when Tyler Inge, facing his former team, blooped a single in right to put OSU up 4-3 later in the inning. The Wolverines, however, tied the game on a ground out in the eighth.
Talt and Jacob Galloway led the Beavers with two hits apiece. Hubbard's home run was Oregon State's ninth hit of the day.
Barr took the loss for Michigan, dropping to 0-1.
Oregon State's next on the field Friday when the Beavers take on Baylor in Round Rock, Texas. First pitch Friday night is slated for 4 p.m. PT (6 p.m. in Texas). Catch the game live on the Varsity Network and Beaver Sports Network. The game will be live streamed on D1Baseball.com.
