Beavers Extend Winning Streak Against No. 17 Wyoming

LARAMIE, Wyoming – No. 27 Oregon State extended its winning streak to four with a 25-12 win over No. 17 Wyoming on Saturday afternoon at the Uniwyo Sports Complex.
The Beavers won seven of the 10 bouts against the Cowboys and improved to 6-1 this season with their only loss to No. 2 Ohio State.
Maximo Renteria, ranked 10th nationally at 125 pounds, started the meet with a 9-2 decision against Sefton Douglass. A three-time Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week this season, Renteria moved to 16-2 during his redshirt senior campaign and 32-11 in his career.
Nash Singleton, at No. 28 in the nation at 141 pounds, cruised to a major decision victory, 17-8, over David Saenz. Singleton won his third-straight match, improved to 12-6 on the season and 34-28 in his four years with the Beavers.
No. 28 Noah Tolentino got a huge win over one of the top wrestlers in the nation at 149 pounds, No. 18 Gabe Willochell, with a 14-8 decision. Tolentino is 15-8 this season, with three wins against ranked opponents, and 32-17 overall at Oregon State.
CJ Hamblin also picked up a ranked win, an 8-2 decision, against Jared Hill who is ranked 17th nationally at 157 pounds, which gave the Beavers a 13-4 lead at the midway point. Hamblin moved to 15-9 on the season and 27-17 in his collegiate career.
Matthew Olguin, ranked 25th nationally at 165 pounds, had no problem with Sloan Swan in a 12-2 major decision to give him 14 wins on the season with only five losses. Olguin, a graduate student from Fresno, Calif., leads Oregon State with 59 career victories.
No. 25 Daschle Lamer, the reigning Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week, notched a ranked win against No. 28 Riley Davis in a 4-1 sudden victory at 174 pounds. Lamer has won four-straight matches and is 17-2 this season with five of the wins coming in dual meets.
Justin Rademacher, ranked fourth in the nation, was dominant against Brett McIntosh with a 19-4 technical fall at 4:26. Rademacher is now 20-1 this season, and 34-11 in his college career.
