May 05, 2025 | Women's Golf
NORMAN, Okla. – Rebecca Kim shot rounds of 73-72 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team at the NCAA Division I Regionals that were increased to 36 holes of play on Monday due to expected inclement weather the next two days.
The Beavers carded a 9-over 295-290—585 at the par-72, 6,445-yard Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club and sit in eighth place in the 12-team field with 18 holes to play.
Per the NCAA, the rules committee will meet Tuesday morning to assess the weather. If teams are able to play Tuesday, tee times will not begin before 11 a.m. PT (1 p.m. CT). An update will be shared shortly after 8 a.m. PT (10 a.m. CT). The committee will review the forecasts for both Tuesday and Wednesday before making a decision.
There will be updates and live scoring available at this link.
Oregon State will have to make a run to earn a trip to the NCAA National Championships for the third consecutive year.
The top five teams and low individual not on an advancing team will earn a spot in the NCAA National Championships scheduled for May 16-21 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Holding down the top five spots through 36 holes are: Stanford (-16), Northwestern (-11), Michigan State (-3), Baylor (+1) and Tulsa (+2).
Kim, a sophomore from South Surrey, B.C., had two birdies in the first round for a 1-over 73 and caught fire in the afternoon with five birdies for an even-par 72 that has her in a tie for 21st place with a 1-over 145.
Kyra Ly and Raya Nakao both carded a 2-over 146, as Ly posted scores of 75-71 and Nakao finished the 36-hole day with a pair of 73's.
Ly, who was named the WCC Golfer of the Year, had five birdies on the day and increased her career under-par total to 29 with the 1-under 71 in the second round. Nakao, who recently won the individual title at the WCC Championship, had three birdies and nothing worse than a bogey over the two rounds.
Madde Sund fired two 2-over 74's with seven birdies for a 4-over 148 and Clara Alevag responded with five birdies in the second round to post an 11-over 80-75—155.
