Three Women’s Golfers Selected To WCC Preseason Team

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Kyra Ly, Raya Nakao and Kate Nakaoka were named to the West Coast Conference Women's Golf Preseason Team, it was announced Thursday.
The Oregon State women's golf team was selected to finish second in the eight-team WCC, as selected by a vote of the conference coaches.

Ly, a senior from Portland, had a scoring average of 71.88 in 33 rounds last season, the best in Oregon State single-season history. She was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), voted the WCC Player of the Year and selected to the 10-member WCC All-Conference Team.
Nakao, a junior from Kaneohe, Hawai'i, had a scoring average of 72.39 in 33 rounds last season, the fourth best in Oregon State single-season history and the best by a sophomore in program history. She was selected to the 10-member WCC All-Conference Team and won the individual title at the 2025 WCC Championship for her first collegiate win.
Nakaoka, a freshman from Mililani, Hawai'i, played in four tournaments this past fall and had a scoring average of 72.83 in 12 rounds. Her best finish was a tie for fourth place at the Molly Collegiate Invitational and her best score was a 2-under 70 at the same event.
