Ducks Spoil Homestand Opener
April 02, 2025 | Softball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – A three-game winning streak for the Oregon State softball team was snapped at the hands of the fifth-ranked Oregon Ducks on Wednesday night at Kelly Field.
Runs by the visitors piled to an 9-1 setback for Oregon State (14-14) in their first of a season-long eight-game homestand.
Following an early 1-0 lead by the Ducks after 2.5, the Beavers loaded the bases in the third but only could scratch across one run. The high-powered Oregon offense countered back with at least one run in the game's final four frames, including a pair of three-run innings.
With the bases packed, Morgan Howey's sacrifice fly to left brought home Justice Flores for the Beaver run. Ella Dardis' single pushed Flores – who pinch ran for Tristian Thompson – into scoring position.
Logan Hulon (7-9) was charged with the loss after tossing the game's entirety. She fanned five but gave up 11 hits and walked just a pair.
The conference opener is up next for Oregon State as they'll welcome LMU for a Saturday twinbill. First pitch of game one is set for 3 p.m. and the second is slated for approximately 30 minutes after. Both games will be shown on ESPN+.
