Beavers In Eighth Place At Meadow Club Invitational

FAIRFAX, Calif. – The Oregon State women's golf team is tied for eighth place at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational after Monday's 36 holes of competition.
The Beavers are shorthanded this week with only four players competing and every score counting, but they battled throughout the long day and posted a solid 17-over 289-304—593 at the par-72, 6,157-yard Meadow Club.
The final round of the 14-team tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday with a shotgun start and live scoring is available at this link.
Madde Sund and Raya Nakao are both tied for 19th place with a 2-over 146, as Sund posted 70-76 and Nakao went 75-71.
Sund rolled in five birdies in the first round to fire a season-best 2-under 70 and added another birdie in the afternoon for a 4-over 76. Her best career score is a 4-under 68 as a sophomore in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Regionals in Westfield, Indiana.
Nakao had two birdies in the morning for a 3-over 75 and doubled her birdie count with four in the second round for a 1-under 71. She now has 20 sub-par scores in her two years at Oregon State with 14 of them coming last season when she set the program's single-season scoring average record with a 72.05.
Kyra Ly opened the tourney with a 2-under 70, her fourth consecutive round in red figures, and is tied for 29th place with a 4-over 70-78—148. She won the individual title in the Beavers' last event, the Causeway Invitational, with a three-round Beaver record 16-under 200.
Rebecca Kim is tied for 59th place with a 9-over 74-79—153 that included three birdies over the 36 holes.
No. 1 Stanford leads the tournament with a 17-under 559, while Kelly Xu of Stanford and Karen Tsuru of Oregon share the individual lead with a 10-under 134.
