Beavers Look To Maintain Momentum in SoCal
February 03, 2025 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's basketball will look to build on a big weekend this weekend, battling LMU and San Diego on the road.
Â
LMU enters the game with a 9-11 record and 3-9 mark in league play while San Diego is 4-17 and looking for its first win against a WCC opponent this season. The Beavers will be taking on the Torreros for the first time in 2024-25. In the first matchup with the Lions, Kennedie Shuler hit an and-one at with 2.1 seconds remaining to secure a 59-56 victory.
OSU is coming off a weekend sweep of Pepperdine and St. Mary's. The Beavs controlled Thursday's game with the Waves from wire to wire in a 63-54 victory before blowing out SMC in perhaps their best game of the year, an 80-45 triumph.Â

PLAYING BEAVER BASKETBALL
Oregon State appears to be rounding into form after a late comeback against Washington State followed by a controlled win over Pepperdine and blowout vs. St. Mary's. Among the typical tenants of Beaver Basketball under Scott Rueck, the Beavs...
Â
NO CHARITY
As in year's past, Oregon State's clean defense means opposing teams rarely make it to the charity stripe. The Beavers rank last in the WCC in opponent free throw attempts at 258 despite playing at least two more games than the next three closest teams (LMU - 20 G/266 FTA, Pepperdine - 21 G/276 FTA, San Francisco = 22 G / 309 FTA). In order to move from least to most, the Beavers would have to average 17 more FTAs per game than every team in the WCC.Â
