Oregon State Completes Road Sweep

MORAGA, Calif. – Kennedie Shuler neared a triple-double with 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead Oregon State to a 63-57 victory over Saint Mary's and complete a road sweep at UCU Pavilion.

Shuler was one of three Beavers in double figures, joining Tiara Bolden and Jenna Villa. Bolden scored 13 points and Villa added 10. The duo made all 11 of their free throws, crucial to ice the game down the stretch. Bolden added four steals and Shuler recorded two blocks and a steal.

Saint Mary's led 43-38 early in the fourth quarter before the Beavers went to their money. The talented guard trio of Shuler, Villa and Bolden went on a 9-0 run to take a 47-45 lead. Lizzy Williamson extended the lead to six with two free throws and Villa nailed a triple to go up 52-47.

After SMC pulled back within one at 54-53, Villa found Shuler on a back cut. The Barlow High School alum converted an and-one to put OSU up 57-53 and free throws salted the game away for the Beavs.

Oregon State won the fourth quarter 25-18. It was the best offensive fourth quarter of the season for the Beavs against a Division I opponent.

Lizzy Williamson was crucial in the early moments of the game, forcing the Gaels out of their zone with several baskets inside. Williamson finished with eight points and six rebounds. Ally Schimel hit two early triples to key the OSU offense in the first quarter.

Oregon State shared the ball well against a variety of Gael defense, handing out 16 assists on 19 baskets.

The Beavers returns home to take on Pacific (Calif.) on Friday at 6 p.m. in Gill Coliseum.
