Sunday Matinee with San Francisco Ahead

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Despite falling to conference-leading San Diego in the last time out, the Oregon State volleyball team will return on Sunday and look to keep a three-match home winning streak intact when they meet San Francisco.
The Beavers (11-5, 5-1) will look to sweep the season series against the Dons and also keep an unblemished record in the series, with the 12-0 advantage. Earlier this month in the first meeting, 17 Lauren Rumel kills and a combined 31 digs between Tia Shum (16) and Alondra Paz (15) helped the Beavs secure a 3-1 win in the City by the Bay.
Numbers to Know
-.067: In the second set against Gonzaga, the Beaver defense held the Bulldogs to a negative (-.067) hitting rate.
.039: Cheyenne Green's 0.39 aces/set rate places her fourth in the league entering the Sunday match.
1: Entering Thursday, the Beavs led the WCC in blocks (62), solo blocks (22) and blocks/set (2.82).
4: Oregon State will look to win their fourth-consecutive match in the comforts of Gill Coliseum.
4.29: Tia Shum put up 4.29 digs/set (30) in the matches against Gonzaga and San Diego.

Meeting Again
• Oregon State edged San Francisco 3–1, winning sets 25-18, 25-14, 22-25, 25-23.
• The Beavs outpaced USF in hitting (.282 vs .241), and edged them in blocks (12 vs 10) and aces (12 vs 5).
• Rumel tallied 17 kills to lead the match
• Alana Marrs added 11 kills and a match-leading 7 blocks
• Nathalie Scholz chipped in 5 blocks
• Tia Shum paced OSU in digs (16) and also delivered 5 aces
• USF's offense was carried by one strong set — the third — when they hit .382 (16 kills, 3 errors on 34 attacks) to take the set.
Sunny in San Francisco
• The Beavs currently lead San Francisco 12-0 in the series history.
• Oregon State won their last match up 3-1 over the Dons.
• Oregon State clinched wins in both 2024 matchups, winning in five in the home matchup.
Make it a Double!
• In their last season's meeting against the Dons, six Beavs reached double digits on the stat sheet. Annika Hester (20), Lauren Rumel (15) and Kalli Schoening (13) posted double digit kills. On the total digs line, Vivian Light finished with 15 to lead Oregon State.
Damming the Competition
• Hot on defense, the Beavers kept their WCC opponents to a .161 hitting rate
• Among the lowest were: Gonzaga (0.67), Saint Mary's (.090), Pacific (.052) and Santa Clara (.180),
Distinguished Beavs
• Alana Marrs, Lauren Rumel and Tia Shum have all been named WCC Players of the Week so far this season.
• Marrs has twice been named the Freshman of the Week in addition to being selected as the Defensive POTW.
The Last Time Out
•The Beavers saw a six-match winning streak end in a four-frame setback to league-leading San Diego on the road.
