Carey Wins Gold with Team USA

PARIS, France – Jade Carey did it – she won her second gold medal.
Having won gold on floor exercise in Tokyo in 2020, the Beaver gymnast competed on vault in the Team Final on Tuesday, executing a beautiful vault that earned a 14.800 and set the tone for a highly successful day for Team USA.
The Americans dominated with a 171.296 overall score to win gold, ahead of silver medalists Italy (165.494) and bronze medalists Brazil (164.497). Carey's 14.800 was the third-highest vault score given on Monday, close behind teammate Simone Biles' 14.900 and Brazil's Rebeca Andrade, who earned a 15.100.
The Olympics aren't over for Carey, either, as she qualified for the Olympic Vault Final, slated for Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7:20 a.m. PT.
