Oregon State Adds Spanish International Cloe Vecina
June 11, 2024 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State made another international addition to the women's basketball roster on Tuesday as Spanish wing Cloe Vecina  signed with the Beavers.
Â
Vecina comes to Corvallis from Celta Baloncesto Femenino and saw action in three games with Celta Zorka in the Spanish senior league. She enters as a freshman.
Â
"We are excited that Cloe Vecina chose to be a Beaver," Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck said. Â "She is a versatile combo guard with the ability to play on or off the ball. I love Cloe's court vision, and she is a smart offensive player who can really shoot. We are thrilled that she chose to come to Corvallis."
Â
"I chose Oregon State University because of its academic prestige and its great basketball team where I'm sure they'll help me reach my goals. And most important, the incredible family atmosphere," Vecina said.
Vecina was recently selected by the Spanish U18 national team to begin training for the 2024 U18 EuroBasket, taking place this summer. She is among the final participants competing for a spot on the roster.
Â
Vecina is OSU's second Spanish signee of the offseason, joining Florida State transfer Lucia Navarro. She is the Beavers' fourth international signee and sixth international on the roster with returners Susana Yepes and Kelsey Rees.
