Oregon State Makes Progress at John Knight Twilight

MONMOUTH, Ore. – Oregon State piled up winning performance at the John Knight Twilight, hosted by Western Oregon.
Claire Lee picked up the first title of her career in the pole vault. The freshman tied her personal best with a 3.55m/11-7.75 clearance, the fifth-best mark all-time. Mia Fowler followed in second with a 3.40m/11-1.25 pass.
Grace Proudfoot also earned a victory in the high jump, leaping 1.65m/5-5.
Jenna O'Beirne got a win in the 800 meters in her first time racing the distance collegiately. The freshman led a trio of top-5 Beavs, all competing unattached, with Ainsley Herron and Ellie Quintana.
Delaney Griffin and Kylee Nelson added two runner-up finishes on the track. Griffin placed second in the 1,500 meters in 4:37.51 while Nelson just missed a PR with a 1:04.64 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Katie Gelston and Markayla Billings added two more second-place results in the discus (42.28m/138-8) and hammer (48.56m/159-4). Billings' mark was the second best of the season, just two feet behind her mark from the Stanford Invite.
UP NEXT
The Beavs head to SoCal for the Long Beach Invitational and Bryan Clay Invitational, both held in the greater Los Angeles area.
