Wildcats Take Series Finale Over Beavs

CORVALLIS, Ore. – 21st-ranked Arizona used a four-run second on the way to a 6-0 win over Oregon State on Saturday afternoon to take the year's first league series.
Paige Doerr and Grace Messmer led the Oregon State (12-12, 1-2 Pac-12) offense, both getting a hit on the afternoon.
After throwing 2.0 frames and yielding four runs on six hits, Logan Hulon (3-5) was charged with the loss. Sarah Haendiges threw the game's remainder in relief, where she surrendered a pair of runs on three hits.
Doerr capped her first weekend at Kelly Field with four hits, including her single in the first frame.
Oregon State will make a midweek trip to Hillsboro, Ore., for a Tuesday doubleheader with Portland State. First pitches with the Vikings are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
