
Beavers Prep for Cliff Keen Invitational

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a week away from action, the Oregon State wrestling team will return to the mats this weekend in Las Vegas for the annual Cliff Keen Invitational.
FloWrestling will carry the streaming for the action on both days while FloArena will provide live scoring.

Cliff Keen Invitational on Deck
• Oregon State will once again be competing in the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas this weekend, which will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Friday and Saturday.
• With the exception of the 2019-20 season, the Beavers have consistently had a presence in the Sin City-based event.|
• The Beavers will be looking for their fourth consecutive top-10 finish at the event after consecutive eighth-place finishes in 2021 and 2022 before a fifth-place performance last year.
• Beaver wrestlers will face competition from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and the Ivy League.
This Week's 10
• The Beavers will have two new entrants to the lineup for action at the Cliff Keen Invitational
• Chase DeBlaere (133) is coming off a fifth-place finish at last month's Navy Classic after a 4-1 performance that saw him collect two wins via fall and another at major decision.
• Ayden Garver (149) had a third-place finish in Annapolis with a 3-1 showing that saw the Oregonian register a major decision win on his way to a podium finish.
Las Vegas Lookback
• Nash Singleton battled for a sixth-place finish at 149 lbs at the 2023 edition of the Cliff Keen Invitational, which included a pair of wins over top-10 opponents. He is the sole returning placer from the 2023/24 team who is slated to compete this weekend.
• Under the direction of Chris Pendleton, Oregon State has had a champion (Gary Traub - HWT, 2021) and a pair of runners-up (Travis Wittlake - 197, 2023) and (Tanner Harvey - 197, 2022) at the Invitational.

Looking Ahead
• Oregon State will return to dual action in their next time out, when they'll face Utah Valley on Dec. 20th in a road matchup. The Wolverines will be the third consecutive team from the Big 12 that Oregon State will face following North Dakota state and Oklahoma State.
• The Beavers will face Utah Valley for the first time since the 2021/22 season, a 31-6 win inside Gill Coliseum.
• After facing Utah Valley, the Beavers will close the calendar year at the annual Reno Tournament of Champions on December 22nd.
• Oregon State last competed in the Reno Tournament of Champions in 2021. The Beavers claimed the team title and five - including Trey Munoz - won individual championships.
Last Time Out
• With 130.5 points, Oregon State closed the Navy Classic in Annapolis with a second-place finish.
• Trey Munoz won the 197 lb competition while 10 others turned in top-10 performances including a pair - Maximo Renteria (125) and Ethan Stiles (157) - finished runner-up.
• Stiles' defeat by sudden victory in the championship bout snapped his undefeated - 6-0 - start to his first season in Corvallis, which has included a win over #8 Teague Travis of Oklahoma State.
• It marked the first time Oregon State competed in the state of Maryland since the 1989-90 campaign.
