Beavers Ready for Navy Classic

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Stepping away from dual action for the first time in the 2024-25 season, the 28th-ranked Oregon State wrestling team will compete in the Navy Classic on Saturday in Annapolis, Maryland. Action from the Naval Academy is set for a 6 a.m. PT start.
While the tournament will not be streamed, FloArena will provide live stats.

Tournament Time
• No. 28 Oregon State will close the first month of the 2024-25 season with the first tournament of the campaign.
• The Beavers will compete in the Navy Classic alongside a dozen other schools including the host Midshipmen, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska and others.
Heading East
• This is the first of two trips to the Eastern Time Zone this season for Oregon State. 2025 will kick off with a trip to Columbus, Ohio for a dual against Ohio State.
• Oregon State has made trips to the east coast in each of the last four years of the Pendleton era.
• The Beavers opened 23/24 with a tri-dual in North Carolina before taking part in the Southeastern Open in Virginia.
Hitting the Mats Again in Maryland
• Oregon State will be making their first trip to Maryland since the 1989-90 campaign.
• The Beavers defeated Navy but fell to Maryland in the trip.
Stiles is Top of the Pac
• Ethan Stiles was named the Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week after his sudden victory win over Oklahoma State's then-eighth-ranked Teague Travis last Sunday.
• The win got him to 3-0 on the young season and also marked his second consecutive one over a ranked foe.
• The Chicago, Ill., product is Oregon State's first Pac-12 WoTW for the season.

Looking Ahead
• Following a weekend away from competition but staying in tournament action, OSU will open December in Las Vegas for the Cliff Keen Invitational from December 6-7.
• Oregon State finished the 2023 edition of the Cliff Keen Invitational with a fifth-place finish, which was the best performance at the event under Pendleton.
The Navy Classic is the first of three tournaments the Beavers will participate in this season. Next month, Oregon State will compete in a pair in Nevada: the Cliff Keen Invite in Las Vegas and the Reno Tournament of Champions to close the calendar year.
