Oregon State Welcomes Three on National Signing Day

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's soccer officially welcomed three new members to Beaver Nation, as Isabella Calderón Martínez, Leanne Oropeza and London Tsuma have signed the dotted line and will join the program ahead of the 2025-26 season.
"We're thrilled to welcome these three talented women into our program. Each one brings a diverse set of skills and experiences that will strengthen our team in many ways," Head Coach Caroline Kelly said. "Whether it's international experience from representing Mexico at the U15 and U17 levels, domestic experience with their club teams or playing in an NWSL academy, all three will play a key role in elevating our program. I look forward to seeing how their talents, work ethic and passion for the game will help us continue to grow and compete at the highest level."
Isabella Calderón Martínez / Midfielder / Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico (Instituto México De Baja California)
A member of the Mexican Youth National Teams, Isabella Calderón Martínez won a silver medal with El Tri at the CONCACAF U17 Championship in 2024 and a bronze at the U15 Championship in 2022. She won the golden boot at the 2021 Mazatlán Cup and again at the 2023 Scotiabank Cup, while exceling with her club team and winning the USYS National U14 Championship and competing at the ECNL Playoffs in 2024.
The daughter of Maria and Francisco, Calderón Martínez enjoys listening to music, watching TV series and movies, playing board games and writing, and intends to major in biohealth sciences with a pre-clinical laboratory science option, with aspirations of playing professional soccer before continuing to her career.
She chose Oregon State because of the attention given to student-athletes and feeling like home in Corvallis.
"The first thing I found really nice was the warmth of the people and the attention they give to athletes and students. I also loved the facilities and how accessible and comfortable everything is," she said. "It felt like home and that's when I decided I wanted to spend my next four years here."
Leanne Oropeza / Midfielder / Eastvale, Calif. (Eleanor Roosevelt High School)
Leanne Oropeza was also member of the U15 Mexican National Team, competing in 2022 and 2023. On the club circuit, she also found great success with Legends FC ECNL, making the playoffs and finishing in the top three nationally in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Outside of Soccer, Oropeza enjoys baking, listening to music and hanging out with friends, and intends to major in sociology with aspirations of working in law enforcement as a detective upon graduation. She has two brothers, Sammy and Anthony, and one sister, Brianna, and chose Oregon State because of the opportunities it provides to growth both academically and athletically.
"When I visited Oregon State, I felt welcomed by the team, coaches, and staff. This school has so much to offer and is a place for me to grow both academically and athletically," she said. "I choose Oregon because of the environment and the plenty opportunities which allowed me to confidently pick this place to prepare myself for the future."
London Tsuma / Midfielder / Portland, Ore. (Westview High School)
Portland native London Tsuma has exceled athletically at Westview High School, earning Metro League Player of the Year honors and a spot on the All-Metro League team, also finishing as the OSAA 6A golden boot winner. A member of the Portland Thorns Academy, Tsuma even earned an invite to train with the first team.
With plans to study business and aspirations of working at Nike when her playing career ends, Tsuma enjoys playing spikeball and pickleball in her free time and has a side hustle where she buys and sells clothes on Depop.
She chose Oregon State because of the welcoming environment.
"I loved the coaches and how welcoming the players were," Tsuma said. "I knew I wanted to stay close to home and when I visited campus I instantly felt at home."
