CORVALLIS, Ore. – Following two-plus months of action on the road and at neutral sites, the 16th-ranked Oregon State wrestling team opens the home slate with a clash against the reigning national champion and top-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions.

• The Beavers will look to keep their unblemished mark (3-0) intact in home openers in the Pendleton era.

• Oregon State and Penn State will meet for the third time in the Pendleton era and all have come in different locales: Nov. 2021 (Mannheim, Pa.), 2022 (State College, Pa.) and 2024 (Corvallis, Ore.)
• The Beavers have faced at least one Big Ten opponent in every season but one since the 2009-10 campaign. They've battled Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconsin
• OSU's sole setback was to then-No. 7 Iowa back in November. Brandon Kaylor defeated then-No. 11 Drake Ayala by decision at 7-6 to highlight the Beavers' day in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Rolled over the Roadrunners
• In the 2023 finale and Pac-12 opener, OSU swept CSU Bakersfield back on Dec. 15 with a 48-0 score to open the 2023 title defense.
• The Beavers used four pins, a major decision and a technical fall to get out to a 1-0 mark in league competition.
Accolades Aplenty
• In five weeks of the season, two Beavs - Gabe Whisenhunt (133) and Brandon Kaylor (125) - have taken the Pac-12's Wrestler of the Week honors. Both were received following ranked wins.
• Whisenhunt took down then-No. 4 Sam Latona of Virginia Tech on the way to taking the individual crown at the Southeast Open while Kaylor defeated then-No. 11 Drake Ayala of Iowa in the dual against the Hawkeyes.
