Oregon State Re-Opens 2024 Indoor Season at UW Invite
January 25, 2024 | Women's Track & Field
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State re-opens the 2024 indoor season on Friday after more than a month off with a trip to Seattle for the UW Invite.
The Beavs were slated to compete at the UW Preview two weeks prior before icy weather and poor road conditions forced them to stay home for the weekend.
Friday's action opens at 3 p.m. with three Beavers slated to compete in the 60-meter hurdles. Oregon State's results throughout the day can be found here and the meet will be streamed here.
LAST TIME OUT
Oregon State's usual suspects put together strong performances in a promising day at the Spokane Indoor.
The Beavers had three athletes either move up or claim a new spot in the Oregon State Top 10 with several notching new personal bests as well. The 800 meters highlighted the day for Oregon State, which had the winner – Jillian Brown – and finishers in third through sixth covered. Brown flew up the OSU Top 10 to no. 4 with a 2:10.30 performance.
Anneke Moersdorf notched a pair of top-five finishes and moved up to no. 4 on the Oregon State top 10 in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.66 in the prelims. Jada Hurley also made a sterling season debut, racing to a fourth place finish and the OSU no. 3 time in the 200 meters with a 24.66 in the 200 meters.
2023 INDOOR IN REVIEW
Oregon State's 2022-23 indoor season was a showcase for the growth of the program since the hire of head coach Louie Quintana and his staff. The Beavers sent Kaylee Mitchell and Grace Fetherstonhaugh to nationals where they brought home three All-America honors. OSU also broke seven school records with six athletes rewriting the record books. The Beavers also had 22 new marks on the school's Top 10 list throughout the season.
