Beavers Mourn Loss of Rob Holbrook

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's basketball and baseball programs mourn the loss of Rob Holbrook, who passed away earlier this week.
Holbrook was a two-sport athlete, competing in men's basketball and baseball from 1979-1982. A forward who attended Parkrose High School in Portland, Holbrook was part of the 1980-81 men's basketball team that was inducted into the Oregon State Athletics Hall of Fame. That squad went 26-2 and won the Pac-12 title for the second-straight year, while earning the No. 1 ranking in the nation for nine-straight weeks.
Overall, Holbrook played 100 games for the Beavers' basketball program. He averaged 7.8 points per game during his sophomore season and finished with 174 career assists.
A pitcher for the Oregon State baseball team, Holbrook was selected in the second round of the 1983 MLB Draft, and played three seasons of minor league baseball.
