Beavers In Fifth Place with 18 Holes To Play At Chambers Bay

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Oregon State women's golf team battled for more than a 12-hour, 36-hole day at the Leadership and Golf Invitational on Monday.
The Beavers sit in fifth place in the 18-team field after posting a 9-over 290-295--585 at the par-72, 6,022-yard Chambers Bay Golf Course.
The final round begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and live scoring is available at BirdieFire.com.
Kyra Ly leads Oregon State on the individual leaderboard after carding a pair of even-par 72's and is tied for 16th place in the 108-player field with a 144. In the first round she eagled the par-4 12th hole and birdied the par-5 fourth hole. Ly dropped in five birdies in the afternoon round.
Madde Sund and true freshman Rebecca Kim are both tied for 27th place with a 4-over 148. Sund posted scores of 72-76 and Kim finished the long day with 73-75.
Raya Nakao is stroke behind those two with a 5-over 73-76--149 and tied for 35th place.
Chayse Gomez was seven strokes better in the second round, finishing the day with a 7-over 79-72--151, to put her in a tie for 53rd place. She had three birdies and three bogeys in the even-par 72 to wrap up the day.
USC has a commanding seven-stroke lead for the team title after shooting a 15-under 561. Hailey Loh of Minnesota holds the individual lead with a 7-under 137.
