Vanderlind, Balsbaugh Named All-Pac-12

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State's Andrew Balsbaugh and Tristin Vanderlind earned All-Pac-12 honors, the league announced Wednesday.
Vanderlind was one of OSU's most consistent rowers this spring, consistently earning a spot on the Varsity 8. The junior catapulted up the boats after being mainly in the 2V8 boat last season. A team captain, Vanderlind helped the Beavers knock off several ranked teams like no. 25 Santa Clara and no. 18 Holy Cross during the year.
Balsbough is in his third year as a member of the Varsity 8. Another junior, he helped the Beavs place fourth among V8s and third as a team at the Pac-12 Championships on Dexter Lake. OSU knocked off nationally ranked foes like Santa Clara and Holy Cross as well as regional foe Gonzaga with Balsbough in the V8 boat.
As a team, the Beavers will head to the IRA National Championships from June 2-4 at Mercer Lake, N.J. The Beavers will have three boats in the competition: their Varsity 8, JV8 and 3V8.
