April 23, 2023 | Men's Rowing
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Oregon State's Freshman 8+ and Freshman 4+ picked up wins and experience on Sunday in the Beavers' scrimmage against local foe Lewis & Clark.
The Freshman 8+ opened the day with a victory over the L&C Varsity squad, outpacing the Pios by over 25 seconds. The Beavs then went 1-2-3 in the 4+ race with the freshmen picking up another win, this time over two L&C boats and the OSU Varsity 4+.
Oregon State's win in the 4+ earned the Beavs the Rainier Cup.
"This was a great addition to our schedule and the freshman got some great racing experience. We went 1-2-3 in the 4+'s. That was fun to watch," Oregon State head coach Gabe Winkler said.
The Beavers head to Philadelphia for their next race, taking on Holy Cross, Penn and Cornell starting April 29.
