Micah McDowell went 4-for-5 with three doubles and three RBI to pace Oregon State to a 10-4 series-opening win over USC. Wilson Weber hit his third home run of the series for the Beavers and Trent Sellers improved to 5-3 after scattering five hits and two runs with seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. OSU led 6-1 and then pulled ahead with the game's final four runs after USC pulled to within three in the seventh.

• Micah McDowell recorded his 10th multi-hit effort of the year. He picked up his second game with four or more hits this season following a career-high five against Coppin State.
• McDowell is 7 for his last 9 with three doubles, a home run, five runs scored and six RBI.
• Wilson Weber hit his third home run of the season in the second on Friday. Two of the three have come over the Beavers' last three games. Both of those home runs have come in the first two innings.Â
• Weber extended his hit streak to four games. As did Garret Forrester who equaled a career-best with three hits.
• Trent Sellers' seven strikeouts on the night Friday gave him 39 in 22 1/3 innings at home this season. The righty improved to 4-0 at home. He has scattered 17 hits with six earned runs for a 2.38 ERA at Goss.
• Sellers has struck out seven or more in eight of his nine starts this season.
• He's now second in the Pac-12 with 74 strikeouts on the year.
• Oregon State has now won six of its last seven series openers against USC.
• The Beavers improved to 24-26 all-time at home against the Trojans. OSU is 11-5 against USC at Goss Stadium dating back to the 2013 season.
• The win was Oregon State's fourth straight over USC, equaling the program long set in 2004-05.
