FAIRFAX, Calif. – The Oregon State women's golf team concluded the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational with an 11th place finish on Tuesday.
The Beavers shot a 16-over 304 in the first round but combined to go 15 over the next two rounds to post a 31-over 304-294-297--895 at the par-72, 6,157-yard Meadow Club.
The first round was suspended twice due to heavy rain and the second round was halted due to darkness on Monday. All 13 teams finished the second round early Tuesday morning with the final round beginning immediately after with the same pairings.
Danique Stokmans led Oregon State with a tie for 17th place finish, carding a 5-over 76-72-73--221 that included a team-best eight birdies. She was in a tie for 42nd place after the first round but played the next 36 holes at 1 over, even with a triple-bogey in the final round.
It's the sixth Top 20 finish of Stokmans' two-year Beaver career, the best being fifth place at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview in the fall of 2021.
Amanda Minni continued a great final season at Oregon State with a tie for 34th place, shooting an 8-over 76-73-75--224 with an eagle in the second round and seven birdies in the tournament. She has two Top 10 finishes this season with a scoring average of 73.72, which stands to be the eighth best in Oregon State history.
True freshman Kyra Ly opened the tourney with a 9-over 81, but didn't let it bother her as she carded an even-par 72 in the second round and a 2-over 74 in the final round to finish in a tie for 48th place with an 11-over 227.
Chayse Gomez equaled Ly on the leaderboard with an 11-over 227 that included scores of 76-74-77. She had five birdies and 33 pars over the three rounds.
Madde Sund, who was competing in her first tournament of the spring season, finished in 67th place with a 16-over 77-78-77--232.
No. 1 Stanford won the team title with a 6-under 858, while No. 11 USC finished second (1-under 863) and No. 5 San Jose State placed third (3-over 867). Rose Zhang of Stanford claimed medalist honors with an 11-under 205.
