
Beavers Drop Contest at No. 5 Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to No. 5 Arizona 84-52 Saturday evening at the McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz.

Freshman Jordan Pope finished in double-figures yet again, hitting six free throws to put up 11 points. Dzmitry Ryuny hit a trio of 3-pointers to finish with nine points before fouling out with five minutes left in the game.

KC Ibekwe ended the evening with six points, seven rebounds and a block and Michael Rataj went for five points and five rebounds. Rodrigue Andela tallied six points, while Glenn Taylor Jr. and Tyler Bilodeau scored five points apiece.

Nine different Beavers scored in the contest.

The teams traded buckets through the first few minutes of the contest, as Arizona took a 7-4 lead into the game's first media timeout. The Wildcats were in front 14-9 after eight minutes of play. Arizona ended the first half on a 19-2 run to head to the break leading 47-21.

Oregon State used a 9-0 run early in the second half to get back within 22. The Wildcats proceeded to lead by as many as 37 on their way to the 32-point victory.

The Beavers will return home next week to take on UCLA and USC.
