
Beavers Bested By Bruins

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to No. 7 UCLA 62-47 Thursday evening at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.

Jordan Pope led the Beavers with 17 points, as he scored in double-figures for the 18th time this season. Pope also made a trio of 3-pointers to surpass Stephen Thompson Jr. for third on Oregon State's all-time freshman list.

Glenn Taylor came up with 10 points and four rebounds, after missing a pair of practices this week due to illness. Dzmitry Ryuny recorded seven points, three rebounds and a pair of steals. Tyler Bilodeau had six points.

As a team, the Beavers forced 15 turnovers.

The Beavers took an early lead, heading into the game's first media timeout up 5-3. The Bruins used a 9-0 run to take the lead 12-8, and the teams traded punches from there with UCLA heading to the under-8 break in front 16-12.

The Bruins extended the lead to 12 in the latter stages of the, before entering the intermission up 31-18.

Oregon State was unable to get within striking distance in the second half, as the Bruins led by as many as 27, before the Beavers made a late run to cut the final margin to 15.

The Beavers will remain at home Saturday to take on USC.
