Beavers Fall to Cougars

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Washington State 80-62 Thursday evening at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, Wash.

Tyler Bilodeau led the Beavers with 18 points and five rebounds on 7-for-11 shooting, scoring 12 of those points in the second half. Michael Rataj finished with 11 points and six rebounds, while Jordan Pope finished with nine points and three assists.

Glenn Taylor Jr. scored eight points. Thirty-five of Oregon State's 62 points came off the bench. The Beavers shot 48 percent from the floor in the contest.

The Cougars scored the first 11 points of the game to jump out to an early lead. The Beavers battled back to cut the advantage to 14-10, but Washington State hit on its first eight 3-point attempts go in front 32-14 mid-way through the first half.

Oregon State used a 6-0 run to get back within 10 with five minutes to go before the intermission, before the Cougars headed to the break up 44-30.

The Beavers got back within 11 early in the second half, but Washington State extended the lead to 63-45 with 11:19 to go. Oregon State scored seven unanswered points to get back within 15, but WSU held on to claim the 18-point victory.

The Beavers will head to Seattle on Saturday for a matchup with Washington.
