Beavers Fall at Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to Washington 61-47 Saturday evening at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash.

Glenn Taylor Jr. led the Beavers with 11 points, five rebounds and a steal. Jordan Pope finished with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Michael Rataj went 4-for-8 from the floor to put up eight points. Tyler Bilodeau recorded eight points before fouling out.

As a team, the Beavers held Washington to 36 percent shooting from the floor, and 25 percent shooting from 3-point range. Oregon State out-rebounded Washington 38-37 and outscored the Huskies 32-22 on points in the paint.

Oregon State scored first, but the Huskies responded to take an early 11-2 lead. Oregon State scored six-straight points to get back within three mid-way through the opening half. The defenses dominated the majority of the opening 20 minutes, as Washington took a 26-18 lead into the intermission.

The Huskies used a 7-0 run early in the second half to extend the advantage to 33-20. Oregon State scored seven unanswered points to get back within single-digits, and was within six points with six minutes to go. Washington took control over the closing minutes to take the victory by 14.Â

The Beavers will return home next Saturday for a rivalry matchup with Oregon.
