Amanda Minni Posts Top 10 Finish, Beavers Jump To Sixth Place
February 14, 2023 | Women's Golf
RANCHO SANTE FE, Calif. – Amanda Minni posted her fourth career Top 10 finish to lead the Oregon State women's golf team at the San Diego State Classic on Tuesday.
The Beavers wrapped up their first tournament of the spring season with a sixth place finish after carding a 60-over 312-302-310--924 at The Farms Golf Club, a par-72, 6,254-yard layout.
The weather in the final round was windy with occasional showers and temperatures in the low 50's making it tough for players to post low numbers.
Oregon State battled the elements throughout the day and moved into the upper half of the 12-team field with seven team birdies in the final round.
Minni was steady all three rounds and finished in a tie for seventh place with a 9-over 75-71-79--225. The 1-under 71 in the second round was the 12th sub-par score of her Beaver career.
The senior from Delta, B.C. now has four Top 10 finishes as a collegian during her time in Corvallis with two coming this season:
February 2023 -- t-8th (San Diego State Classic)
September 2022 -- t-6th (USF Intercollegiate)
October 2018 -- t-3rd (Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational)
April 2018 -- t-8th (Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational)
Danique Stokmans narrowly missed a Top 10 finish, as she finished in a tie for 14th place with a 13-over 79-74-76--229. Her final round, which included three birdies, moved her nine spots up the leaderboard. She had a team-best 10 birdies over the three rounds, the third most in the 63-player field.
Chayse Gomez equaled Minni with six birdies in the tournament and finished in a tie for 27th place with a 17-over 75-79-79--233.
Kyra Ly recorded her best score of the tournament in the final round, a 4-over 76, that vaulted her 10 spots up the leaderboard and into a tie for 51st place with a 27-over 83-84-76--243.
Kelsey Webster was a stroke back of Ly and finished in sole 53rd with a 28-over 83-78-83--244.
Iowa State won the team title with a 33-over 897, and Caterina Don of Georgia claimed medalist honors with an even-par 216.
