December 08, 2023 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's basketball will look for its first 7-0 start in six years when the Beavers welcome Jackson State to Gill Coliseum for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday.
The Beavers and Tigers squared off last year with OSU picking up a 63-53 victory. Martha Pietsch led the Beavs in that victory, tallying 14 points with four assists and four rebounds. Raegan Beers recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards.

DOMINATING DEFENSE
The Beavers are known for their lockdown D under Scott Rueck. Oregon State has allowed 58.7 points per game over the course of his tenure and has held opponents under 65 points in 70% of its games. The Beavs are 237-62 (.790) when holding the opponent to 65 points or fewer and 199-35 (.844) when holding opponents under 60 in the Rueck Era.
VOICE OF THE BEAVS
Beaver fans can expect a familiar voice calling the action this season. Voice of the Beavers Ron Callan has called 487 Oregon State women's basketball games since joining the program in the 2007-08 season, holding a record of 299-188 during that span.
EVERYONE DISHES, EVERYONE EATS
Like most offenses, Oregon State's is at its best when players are sharing the ball. Despite a nearly half-new team, the Beavs are averaging 20.6 assists per game and assist on over 60 percent of their made baskets. The result: Eight Oregon State players this season have scored in double-figures at least once. Talia von Oelhoffen is settling into a role as a distributor - in addition to her scoring and floor-spacing - with a career-high 4.3 assists per game.
