Sharing My Story - Chayse Gomez
November 07, 2023 | Women's Golf
My experience at Oregon State has been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and something that I will remember forever. It has helped me grow so much as a person and build new relationships with the people in the town of Corvallis, within the athletic department and all of my teammates and coaches.
I chose Oregon State because I love the support from the students and faculty around campus, the coaching staff is awesome, the facilities are spectacular, along with the team/family environment felt welcoming when I stepped foot on campus, and the school itself felt like home.
I've been fortunate to have a more rooted experience because of Oregon State, and I feel welcomed and supported by everyone in athletics and from the university, as well as representing Beaver Nation every time I play golf.
I have been able to volunteer at local schools and represent the women's golf team to provide inspiration for younger Beaver fans. This has made me want to be a role model for others in the community to show there are so many things bigger in life than golf to strive for every day.
I am pursuing a major in English with a minor in Writing and hope to pursue professional golf or coaching after my time as a student-athlete at Oregon State comes to an end. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and all of the students at Oregon State. Go Beavs!
